Return to Sanity

Do you ever feel as if your mind is on overload with all the varied information being hurled at you? It is not hard these days. You have so many heads out there talking at you and trying to tell you what you think and why you should think a certain way that sometimes it is easy to lose touch with the truth. Well my friends there is a very simple answer to this prolem. TURN THEM OFF! That's right, I said turn them off. Switch away from all the meaningless and endless babble and take a deep breath. Spend time with your family, just your family with no pundits in the room. Watch your favorite comedy. Read a book, if you really want to make your time useful I suggest the Bible, but you decide what to read not because some babbler is selling there latest tome of nothings and convinces you that you must read it to understand the world. Please just try it and see how wonderful the world seems again without all the noise of nonsense ringing in your ear.

Now don't get me wrong. I am not advocating being blind to current events, but rather to be more discerning about where and from whom you get your information. The net is a wonderful tool. You can read about and see events from all over the world and get varied perspectives and more easily remove all the spin to decide for yourself what the truth is in any situation. If enough people would take this simple step, soon the talking heads would go away and so would the phony sense of urgency that the spinmiesters place on every event so that they can keep their 24-hour news cycle churning. Wait until you see how much more enjoyable life is when there is no one shouting through a television or radio that things are as bad as they get until they tell you differently. True perspective is a sweet and peaceful gift; take it back.

May God bless you my friends.
